Paralegal

Associate of Applied Science Degree

A paralegal is a person, qualified by education, training or work experience, who is employed or retained by a lawyer, law office, corporation, governmental agency or other entity to perform specifically delegated substantive legal work for which a lawyer is responsible.

To prepare graduates for this career, the ABA approved Paralegal education at Lamson College includes specific legal skills, computer proficiency and an excellent, broad general education.

The program helps prepare graduates for success on the Certified Legal Assistant examination. CLA certification is an independent program that students may elect to pursue and is provided by the National Association of Legal Assistants.

Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to the public, except as permitted by law. The program is still in progress, but no students are being admitted at this time.
